Bring Back the Treasure in You – Creativity

Do you know who you are? You’re an artist.

You see color and beauty in the world, even when others don’t. The way you interpret life is different than anybody else’s and nobody can take that away from you! That’s why I wrote this post for all of my fellow artists out there who need a boost of motivation or encouragement to keep creating their art, no matter what.

Bring Back the Treasure in You

I still remember the first day I started my new job as an IT analyst. It was so exciting to finally do something different, get away from my old routine and be part of the Application Security Team. But after a few years, it had me wondering if this is really what I want to be doing with my life. Something is missing and feels like there is something more to life. It wasn’t until recently that I started feeling creative again because of one simple task: I was asked to become part of our party planner team on a certain occasion and I was in charge of creating arts and video edits.

I think it was the first time I ever felt like everything just clicked. Like, all of my interests and passions – drawing, animating, video editing, music and so much more – they were finally coming together. It just felt right. Like this treasure inside me has been lost but now that I found it again.

It’s so refreshing to go back, continue the things I loved, and learn new skills at the same time. Since then, I’ve been immersing myself in arts and never felt fulfilled than ever before.

It is NEVER too late. You can always go back to things you loved and is definitely not too late to discover what you can do if given a chance. Keep creating in ways that express yourself without fear of judgment from those around you – just keep doing what makes your heart sing!

If your creativity has been feeling stagnant lately, here are some ways to get back on track:

    • Take time for yourself each day
    • Get inspired with books & movies
    • Keep making things even if they’re not perfect yet
    • Seek out new information about materials or techniques

These methods have been very helpful to tap into my creativity again. In reality, creativity is a part of who we are as humans, so taking time to get back into it will help bring balance to our lives.
